Does anybody know any good dress makers in the South Wales or Newbury area? My friend's having a panic about getting her wedding dress and brideslaves dresses made. Come to think of it, if you can recommend any photographers or cake makers too, it may stop her head exploding ;) | | Tuesday, March 10th, 2009 | | 10:50 am |

Suggestions for birthday celebrations, please
As soooooooo many people are celebrating their 30th this year, we thought we'd do a big joint celebration. But can you think of any cool suggestion of what to do? The only two ideas we've had so far is another banquet or a boat party. | | Wednesday, February 18th, 2009 | | 5:29 pm |

Fabric wanted
I have an art project brewing and need your help... I don't know if you've heard of Re-vamp in Cardiff, but they hold clothes swap parties and highlight the work of people who used recycled materials/fabric in their work. In this vain I thought I'd go a bit Tracey Emin (although it'll most probably end up more a bit Pete Tong!) So if you have any fabric your want to get rid off (clothes/bedding/curtains/off-cuts/whate ver) over the next few months could you kindly pass it on to me? Being the queen of darkness, I'd especially appreciate pale/pastel colours. It doesn't matter if its patterned or stained, I'll work around it. Tar! | | Monday, February 2nd, 2009 | | 12:21 pm |

Money saving tips...
1) Do this quick questionnaire on the energy saving trust website and they can tell you exactly what you need to do to keep your house warmer and the energy bills lower... http://www.energysavingtrust.org.uk/proxy/view/full/165/homeenergycheck2) Pretend you want to join a gym (especially ones with spas) and get free day pass for you and your friends. This is how I will be spending my weekends in steam rooms, saunas, jacuzzis and heated swimming pools throughout the poor and bloody cold month of January. Its not me just being cheeky, I AM going to join the best of the bunch in February. I'm just not forking out hundreds (of somebody else's money) for membership to a place I've never set foot into before! I thought it would save you money too, if your the type that only goes for the first month, to shift the xmas belly ;) | | Tuesday, December 30th, 2008 | | 11:58 pm |
Today started off a bit pants. First I opened my degree results to find they were only my module results, so I canceled the celebratory piss up and went to Bath instead. When we got there the Therma Spa was so busy people were standing outside in the bastard freezing cold for 40 mins...screw that! So Mortarach found the best shop in the world, if your into magic. I found somewhere that does dark hot chocolate...it was so so. At 5ish there was still a stupid long queue so we found the best pet shop with a cute pregnant dumbo and finally ended up in O'Neils for grub. Check again at 6.45pm and they was 5 people queuing. Win. Then about an hour ago I finally when though the bloody website and found out I got a 2:1... All of a bit of an anti-climax. Mortarach's more excited then me. I'm off to bed! | | Monday, December 15th, 2008 | | 5:47 pm |
Tats and thats
Right, UV tattoos and white tattoos aren't the same thing, are they? UV tattoos shine under blacklight. White tattoos are just white ink. Although both can look like brands due to scarring, but that depends how you heal and the tattooist. Does anybody actually know anybody with either type tattoos, especially if they had them done in this country. I originally wanted a UV tat but some rip off merchants have just been using glow stick liquid to do them, sooo bad! Also as their so new, nothing is known about the long term effects of the non-glow stick inks, some discolour to yellow/brown, re-touching needed, etc. I'm now swing towards a white tat but am concerned about discolouring/fade due to sunlight. I doubt anybody can help... | | Tuesday, December 9th, 2008 | | 11:23 pm |

Bath treats
Thursday I had one of the best days in ages. I went to Bath for a very long day filled with lots of nice treats. May I make the following recommendations to you? Demuths vegetarian restaurant Just around the corner from the Abbey with a lot of vegan goodies which serves only organic alcohol. Its so popular though that a reservation is compulsory, unless you turn up for the end of lunch about 2.30pm. Check out their website for a few recipes... http://www.demuths.co.ukSweetie Shops There are loads...shops with sweets in old fashion(plastic!)jars behind the counter, like the The Sweet Shop by Demuths or places that make fudge/chocolate on the premises with free samples...yum. Free/discount stuff If you go to http://www.firstgreatwestern.co.uk/Content.aspx?id=3023 you can get 2 for 1 offers on the major attractions in Bath, Bristol, London and Oxford, if you travel by train. Roman Baths There a lot bigger then you think! Its really nice to get to seem everything by avoiding the hordes of summer tourists and by going late in the day, when the big bath is lovely, lit up by flaming torches, check out my profile pic on FB...go 2 for 1 goodness. The Thermae Spa After doing the tourist thing and a bit of window shopping around the endless Christmas market in the cold rain, it was heaven in the lovely warm bubbling water, even in the open air roof pool under the moon. Although you have to make a mad dash in and out of the pool for the stairs/lift, its worth it as you soon get warm in the steam room on the floor below. It's great for getting rid of winter aches and pains...3 days and counting! Also if you use your train ticket discount you can get 4 hrs for the price of 2, saving yourself a tenner. Win! http://www.thermaebathspa.com/Think the next place I want to go to do touristy things is Oxford, I vaguely remember there's some Renaissance stuff knocking about there...any suggestion? | | Tuesday, November 25th, 2008 | | 2:20 pm |
